When
Kathryn Lowell, founder of Image Matters, graduated from Yale University
and started working on Wall Street in the 1980’s, she quickly discovered
a key to success that was never taught in school – a polished personal
image. Throughout her 14-year professional career in finance, emerging
market development and entrepreneurship, she studied the attributes of
personal image that set apart the highest achievers. She found that given
the same knowledge and training, the individual with a stronger personal
image consistently outperforms and achieves success more rapidly. Surprisingly,
she also observed that an individual with a strong personal image could
often surpass other more-qualified individuals in their field.
In 2001, Kathryn launched Image Matters to advise corporate groups and
individuals alike on image enhancement as a stepping-stone to higher productivity
and personal success. For hundreds of individual clients and for audiences
at her popular talks and seminars, she is a trusted expert that demystifies
the complexities of wardrobing, grooming, business and social etiquette
and interpersonal behavior, and delivers easy to understand principles
that take people from ordinary to outstanding and from career stagnation
to career acceleration.
Unlike fashion-industry spokespeople or image consultants that coach celebrities,
Kathryn’s own personal story resonates with her clients and audiences.
Her rural upbringing, her transition to life in the Ivy League and later
working on Wall Street taught her the importance and skills of relating
to people at every social stratum. With an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship
from UCLA and corporate experience in the U.S. and in Europe, Kathryn
is uniquely qualified to address the personal image needs of employees
at all levels of the organization and the needs of small business owners.
Her practical teaching style and humorous anecdotes reinforce the concepts
she delivers.
As co-founder and spokesperson for Image Matters Group, an image resource
company, Kathryn also brings her advice to a worldwide market via video
and DVD products. Kathryn is an active member of the Association of Image
Consultants International.
